We are deeply saddened by the high number of casulties during the protests in Baghdad and several southern provinces in Iraq since October 1, 2019.

We wish Allah’s mercy upon those who lost their lives and speedy recovery to the injured among the civilians and security forces during the protests.

Turkey attaches importance to the stability of Iraq. A life of peace and prosperity is our sincere wish for the Iraqi people.

We believe that the Iraqi Government will take all necessary steps to address the legitimate expectations of the people.

We call on all parties to exercise utmost restraint to prevent more casualities during the protests.
